Bela

Real Name: Unknown

Identity/Class: Human/Mutant

Occupation: Terrorist

Affiliations: The Brotherhood

Enemies: Malon Reeves; Marshal

Known Relatives: None

Base of Operations: London, England

First Appearance: The Brotherhood #4 (October, 2001)

Powers/Abilities: Bela is a psionic vampire who drains a victim's body of it's moisture through skin contact. He was apparently also able to levitate or fly to some extent.

Weakenesses: It seemed as though, like any vampire, Bela needed to feed regularly to survive.

History: BTS- At some point the mutant named Bela became a member of the militant mutant terrorist group, the Brotherhood.

(The Brotherhood #4)- Bela was one of the members of the Brotherhood's London Cell who were sent to recruit/kidnap the rich mutant Malon Reeves. The group easily did away with her bodyguards, but Malon escaped. Fellow Brotherhood member Clive was sent after her, but was hit by her car. Instead of having his teammate die a slow death, Bela drained him. The remaining group tracked Malon to a nightclub she frequented and killed...a lot more people... While trying to drag Malon off, she used her powers to burn his left hand, before Bryson knocked her out.

(The Brotherhood #5)- Back at their headquarters, Bela had a little fun by torturing Malon, before Bryson stepped in to stop him. Bela was sent back to the Reeves Estate, where he came into contact with Marshal('s fist). Marshal was in charge of the "interrogation" of Bela and Fiona, who was also caught, and forced him to walk a conveyor belt while being stabbed by sharpened pencils (Tiny stakes, get it?)

(The Brotherhood #6)- Somewhere in London, Bela was sitting in a dark room, tied to a chair. Marshal mentioned that he was now missing two hands. Bela begged him to tell him what he wants, which Marshal replied to with "X".

Comments: Created by X and Leonardo Manco

Bela may have been his real first or last name, but I would guess it was just a part of his vampire-obsession. (Bela Lugosi played Dracula in the original Dracula movie)

If Bela survived, he could get tips from Reaper on good cybernetic replacements.

If I remember the hype right, the character X was supposed to be a big surprise, but it ended up just being whoever was in charge of the Brotherhood at the time (Which was Hoffman)

There was much speculation who writer X was when the book first started, but it showed to be pretty smart that he didn't reveal his secret.
According to
Prime Eternal: The popular theory was Devin Grayson.
